Outgrowing this minute location, and as Ed and Marian have in San Diego, been known for expansion, and always on the leading edge of their business.
Now by this time, with 6 kids a vault full of record breaking race records and trophies to match, the Taylor's were ready for the big move in to the world of the big guys. This started the infamous E.T. auto parts. With everything they knew from then they applied throughout the years to begin in the boating industry. Starting out as Marina Center Yacht Sales, and owning for numerous years the prestigious Wizard of Bristol a 1916 Herreschoff New York Forty Ketch the Taylor family completely self restored and operated a business as well.
After learning the aspect of yacht sales it was back to wrenching which the Taylor's knew best.
Again starting with a minute shop, and the Taylor's dedication to making it happen. No sooner did the ball start rolling. The business succeeded to leaps and bounds, and soon relocated to the Mission Bay Marina area, where the Taylor's took advantage of an onsite haul out yard in a large shop and retail accessories store. Business could not have been better, but again large just wasn't big enough for the Taylors.
The Taylor's relocated the retail store to it's own location as a satellite store in the Marina Village Marina area and the repair facility to it's sole location, behind the Sports Arena. This was in 1982, when the Taylor's began it's "Destiny Child" it survived the boating industry slump, economy problems, but as expected, the Taylor's survived. In 1993, the loss of a legend, Ed Taylor SR. was a devastating blow to the Taylor Family, and to the local boating world, but not the business....
Marian Taylor was a trooper, and a die hard fan of the family business. And on it went.
Now with the oldest of the 6 children, and all grown with the wisdom of her predecessor, Diane Acuna, partners in ownership with Eric Taylor her brother, with the knowledge of service that runs circles around the competition, with his crew of the most knowledgeable staff available to the industry, to help you with your service needs, but without this lady to direct the helm in the right direction, Marian Taylor, the team would never be complete. Boat Store is still growing in leaps and bounds and in the same direction their founding father engraved in the Taylor's Forte for another complete and honorable success. With the knowledge and drive, and an old cliché, we are different from the other guys, "WE CARE". It's not just words on a piece of paper, but a downright guarantee to our customer, as a dedicated service facility and retail outlet to supply our customers with the most you can get out of a "ONE STOP PARTS AND SERVICE CENTER." You have our word on it...
